ONLINE YOGA WITH JANE

Practice yoga in the comfort of your own home.
Below you can find some lovely short Yoga practices. They are part of the 'Create your morning Yoga routine' series. You can do these classes in the morning to start your day, but of course, also any other time that suits you. Maybe they are actually perfect for during your lunch break. Whatever works for you!
Also, there are juicy Yin Yoga and powerful Vinyasa flow classes. And a special Yin Yoga & Yoga Nidra session of 120 min is available for you too.

Please note that most of these sessions are recorded live online Zoom classes that I taught during Covid lockdown. No fancy studio or equipment was used to record these sessions. They are sessions taught with love, from the heart, from my home to yours. So excuse the bad lighting or video quality. The sound is fine though and you can easily follow my instructions. Enjoy it!

On my YouTube channel, you can find even more classes. So please subscribe and stay up to date on new classes.

Props
Don't worry if you don't have props at home. You can be creative. You can use a rolled-up or folded towel or small blanket, pillow or cushion, books and a belt (a soft belt from a bathrobe works perfectly).
Make sure to have your props around you before we start the class.

Music
If you would like to practice with music. I have a lot of yoga playlists on Spotify ready for you.
You can enjoy the music at your own volume so that you can still hear me clearly and you also have to option to practise without music if you prefer.

In some of the videos, I mention Hatha Sun Salutations on a mantra.
Music: Surya Namaskar by Kai Franz. Please go to this link.

I suggest you follow me on Spotify (button below) and then you can easily find some nice playlists.

CREATE YOUR OWN MORNING YOGA ROUTINE

All these videos are part of my series 'Create a morning Yoga routine'. I want to encourage everyone to dedicate some time at the beginning of their day to themselves. Some quality time for yourself before you dedicate all your time and energy to your work and obligations. Take some time for either yoga or any movement of the body, for meditation or breathwork. When you start your day doing something for yourself; making you feel relaxed, good, happy, energized, strong, etc. it can really set the tone for the rest of your day. You will live a more happy life, feeling more energized and also feeling good and open in your body. It can also help to release and prevent stress.
Of course, you can also do these practices at any other time that suits you. :-)

17 min Sun Salutations tutorial
In this 17 minute tutorial, I teach you a very simple Hatha style Sun Salutation. I am very much a fan of doing some rounds in the morning when I don't have a lot of time for anything else. Especially doing it on the mantra (see details above, under Music), because it brings me into this state of (moving) meditation. And the great thing is, once you know the sun salutations you don't need to use a computer and YouTube video for guidance anymore. You can just do the sun salutations by yourself, either using the mantra or not, wherever you are.

25 min Core strengthening exercises pilates style
In this video, we do a 25-minute core-strengthening practice. It's not so much a typical yoga practice, but more pilates style exercises for strengthening the core. This practice is also suitable for those with lower back sensitivity.

30 min Yoga flow to open the whole body
This is a nice short Yoga flow that will open the whole body in all directions. The practice is 27 minutes long. We will do a short arrival on the mat, connecting to your body and your breath, then some stretches for the torso and spine and opening of the shoulders. Then continuing with sun salutations, adding various poses. Finishing with a short Savasana.

30 min Yoga flow for a strong core
This is a great short Yoga flow that opens the body and will specifically strengthen your core. An energizing flow to do if you want to feel energized. The practice is about 30 minutes long. We will do a short arrival on the mat, connecting to your body and your breath, then some stretches and pilates style core exercises. Then continuing with sun salutations, adding various poses and core strengthening work. Finishing with a short Savasana.

Yin Yoga & Vinyasa flow classes

80 min Yin Yoga ~ Healthy Hips
A juicy Yin Yoga class that works deep into the hips.

60 min Happy Hips Vinyasa flow
A nice yoga flow class that works on the hips. We start with some stretches and then slowly start to flow through sun salutations. Adding hip-opening poses and balancing poses to the flow. Finishing with a reclined twist and a sweet Savasana.
In my flow classes, we move fairly slow to get deep into the poses and really feel them.
Stay with the breath, connect to your body and flow.

80 min Yin Yoga ~ Heart opening
A juicy Yin Yoga class that works on opening the heart. We start with a long arrival on the mat, with breathwork and awareness to the heart space. Then we continue with more breathwork; synchronizing breath and movement in the 3-Part Taoist Breath. Here we start to bring that heart-opening movement to the body and spine (spinal extension). Then we go through various heart opening poses and we finish with a sweet Savasana.

75 min Heart opening Yoga flow
A delicious yoga flow class to open the heart. For a heart opening practice, we want to open the front of the body; quads, pectoralis (chest muscles) and shoulders. We want to move from a place of openness at the front and strength in the backside of the body rather than just collapsing backwards. This is also to prevent injury, especially in the lumbar, the lower back. We start with some stretches and then slowly start to flow through sun salutations. Adding poses to slowly build up to deeper heart opening poses. Finishing with a sweet Savasana.

120 min Yin Yoga & Yoga Nidra masterclass

Find deep relaxation, discover the power of the mind, connect to yourself & set your intention. A session full of breath, body & mind work. During this session, we focus on surrendering to the present moment. To make the connection to your inner self, bringing awareness to the energy that is always surrounding us in space, to dive deep into your subconscious mind, where we want to plant a seed, an intention, a positive affirmation, manifesting your biggest heart wish.

We start with a Yin session where we create space in the body and gently start to open up. Practising surrendering and relaxing into the poses we are in. Being in the here and the now. Coming into a state of deep relaxation and preparing the body and mind for the Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra is translated as Yogic sleep and is a guided relaxation. It's a very deep relaxation for the body and the mind. It is a relaxation technique that helps us to unite our mind, body and soul. This relaxation practice helps us to awaken positive energy that is already hidden in our inner self. And in this deep relaxation, we sink more into the layers of the subconscious mind where we can set intentions, planting our deepest heart wish like a seed into our subconscious being. At the same time, it helps us to get refreshed, rejuvenated, relaxed and energetic by getting rid of tension, stress and anxiety. Tapping into our parasympathetic nervous system.

There is a specific playlist on my Spotify for this masterclass. Please go to this link.

Safety during my online yoga classes
I like to suggest the following guidelines to reduce the risk of injury.

  • In case of injuries or other physical discomfort or pregnancy, it is advisable to consult a doctor or treatment specialist before you take a class to ask whether you can practice yoga.

  • If you have an injury, other physical discomforts or are pregnant, and you have doubts or questions, you may always contact me.

  • Listen to and follow my instructions, but always listen to your own body FIRST though. Do not do anything that does not feel good.

  • Do the yoga exercises carefully and listen to your physical limitations.

  • Do not do yoga exercises that feel painful to your body.

  • Since it's an online class it's not really possible to ask questions during class. In the case that you do not understand an exercise, please be careful and stop if it doesn't feel right. You may always contact me to ask your questions.
