CURAÇAO: 2-day course in 2027

20H YOGA NiDRA TRAINING ON BONAIRE & CURAçAO

Join me for this Yoga Nidra course.

Yoga Nidra is a powerful guided meditation practice designed to help you deeply rest, restore your energy and release physical, mental and emotional tension.

In a world where many of us are constantly overstimulated, busy and exhausted, Yoga Nidra offers a space to slow down and reconnect with ourselves.

During Yoga Nidra, the body rests while awareness remains awake. This practice can help calm the nervous system, support better sleep, reduce stress and bring a profound sense of relaxation and clarity.

Over time, Yoga Nidra may also help us become more aware of deeply rooted habits, thought patterns and beliefs, creating space for change and healing.

    • The five koshas (the 5 layers of being) as a map for guided inner awareness
    • How to structure and guide a full Yoga Nidra session
    • Guiding body scans, breath awareness and visualisations
    • Creating and writing your own Yoga Nidra scripts
    • The use of voice, language and rhythm in guidance
    • Trauma-sensitive and safety-aware facilitation
    • Adapting Yoga Nidra for different students and settings
    • Holding space for deep rest, stillness and self-observation
    • • Exploring how Yoga Nidra can be integrated into Yoga classes, workshops, private sessions or personal practice

Key benefits of Yoga Nidra:

Regular practice of Yoga Nidra may support:

• Deep physical relaxation
• Nervous system regulation and reduced stress
• Improved sleep quality
• Recovery from fatigue and burnout
• Reduced anxiety and mental overactivity
• Greater emotional balance
• Improved focus and mental clarity
• Increased self-awareness
• Release of accumulated tension
• A lasting sense of inner calm and steadiness

Beyond these core effects, Yoga Nidra may also support immune function, emotional processing, creativity, resilience, and overall well-being.

Many practitioners report feeling more grounded, more connected to themselves, and better able to navigate daily life challenges with clarity and ease.

While every experiences is unique, Yoga Nidra offers a structured and accessible way to access deep rest — something many of us have, unfortunately, gradually lost connection with in modern life.

Yoga Nidra from the Kosha perspective

From a traditional yogic perspective, Yoga Nidra works through the five koshas — the five layers of being, which we will explore throughout the training.

The practice begins with awareness of the physical body (Annamaya kosha), moves through the breath and energy body (Pranamaya kosha), calms the mental and emotional field (Manomaya kosha), and may bring greater clarity and insight (Vijnanamaya kosha).

Over time, this can support a deeper sense of contentment, inner ease and connection (Anandamaya kosha).

This layered approach is part of what makes Yoga Nidra both deeply accessible and profoundly transformative at the same time.

Why choose this 20h Nidra course:

There are many Yoga Nidra trainings and yoga courses available today. I believe it is important to choose a training that truly resonates with you.

Over the years, I have followed many trainings myself and have learned what I personally value in a course and in a teacher: depth, clarity, structure, authenticity and personal attention.

My approach is grounded, professional and accessible. This training has been created with great care, combining traditional yogic philosophy with practical tools that you can immediately integrate into your own practice or teaching.

I intentionally work with small groups to create a calm, safe and personal learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, exploring the practice and sharing experiences openly.

Working in a smaller setting also allows me to offer individual guidance and personal feedback throughout the training.

What students say about my courses

~ Marloes Tiggeloven, Bonaire, February 2026

“I followed the Yoga Nidra course by Jane.
This course was a wonderful experience. The teacher created a safe and calming space, and I learned techniques I can use for myself and in classes.

The philosophy and origins of Yoga Nidra, the 8 stages of the practice (body scan, breath awareness, visualization, etc.), how to create and guide your own Yoga Nidra sessions, the role of Sankalpa (intention setting), neuroscience (brainwaves, nervous system) and script writing and teaching skills.

Also, guided practices and live sessions, Which I especially appreciated. They were clear and with a gentle approach.
It is a well structured good courses with balance theory + practice, not just lectures.
would recommend Jane’s course if you want to learn more about Yoga Nidra, or one of the other courses she offers.
Beside all her knowledge, she is a lovely person. Warm, cheerful and easy going. 🙏🏾

~ Jennifer Beaulieu, Bonaire, February 2024

“I have been practising with Jane for a few years now when I visit the island and I recently participated in her Yin Yoga TTC in Bonaire and it was an absolutely amazing experience! Jane is such a beautiful person and she teaches with such passion! I have been practising yoga for many years and in these two weekends I learned so much that I can take home to my practice and hopefully one day share with others. I met some amazing people that I will never forget. This experience was physically good for me but it was also good for my soul and I attribute that to Jane and her wonderful teaching style.
If you have the opportunity I strongly suggest you participate in one of her classes or courses!!”

YOUR TEACHER

Jane Bakx

I am truly looking forward to sharing this Yoga Nidra training with you. Throughout the course, I will personally guide all lectures and practices.

My foundation in Yoga was shaped during my teacher trainings in India, and my understanding of Yoga Nidra deepened through specialised training with James Reeves from ‘Deep Rest’.

Over the years, Yoga Nidra has become an essential part of my own life and practice, particularly as a way to find deep rest, relaxation and balance.

What I love most about Yoga Nidra is both its simplicity and its depth, and the many ways in which the practice can be guided with care, presence and awareness.

I look forward to exploring this beautiful guided meditation practice together.

REVIEWS

What ex-students say about my courses

I would like to give Jane a big compliment for the guidance of my Yin Yoga teacher training, at the fantastic location Heart to Heart in Bussum. As one of the two men in the group, I have developed myself with my limited experience into a starting teacher with passion! It is a strong curriculum, with a nice link to the practical Yin Yoga exercises. Jane manages to bind and captivate the group. As far as I'm concerned, she is the teacher to follow your Yoga training/deepening with!
Jane, thank you very much!

~ Kevin Van Der Sande, Netherlands, November 2022

"Recently, I participated in a 50-hour Yin Yoga training with Jane Bakx in Orgiva, Spain. Jane is exceptionally skilled as a yoga teacher. I enjoyed the week at Almond Hill House and the organic and biodynamic food, but most importantly, I enjoyed the training. I learned a lot about Yin and discovered its essence. Jane is an excellent teacher. Her Yin classes were superb, as were her lessons in anatomy and philosophy. All of this took place in a beautiful setting. Jane, thank you for your guidance, patience, warmth, and hospitality."

~ Silvia van Woezik, Netherlands, September 2024

“I recently completed a Yin Yoga Teacher Training with Jane, and her patience, dedication, and passionate approach made all the difference. Her warm and caring personality created a safe environment where everyone felt comfortable, while her detailed explanations of anatomy enhanced our understanding of Yin Yoga's benefits. I left feeling inspired and ready to teach Yin Yoga myself. I highly recommend Jane's program if you seek Yin Yoga teacher training!”

~ Paulinka Roemer-Schipper, Curaçao, March 2024

“I participated in Jane's 50h yin yoga teacher course on Curaçao. Initially with the aim of becoming the best yogi possible. You will receive a lot of information about anatomy, philosophy, etc. and you will practice with the poses individually and in groups (how to be a guide). Alternated with a yin class that she gives herself for relaxation. (wonderful). She brings all this in a very relaxed atmosphere. She responds well to what is happening, little escapes her. If necessary, she returns to topics and issues that are being discussed (very alert).
In short, excellent lessons for both those who want to use it for their own practice and for prospective yoga teachers.
Thank you very much for everything Jane
🙏

~ Paul van den Berg, Curaçao, March 2024

“Thank you so much for this very special week!
I thought it was very special, that you really try to share everything you know and don’t hold back in order to make everyone the best teacher they can be.
I feel deeply inspired. One of the many things I learned is that breathing in is also called INSPIRATION!
Much love!”

~ Annette Rieger, Belgium, October 2019

“I recently joined the BREATHE pranayama and breathwork course on Bonaire with Jane Bakx.

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible instructor Jane for her wisdom, guidance, and grounded presence throughout the course 🙏 I can highly recommend her to anyone looking to deepen their breathwork practice.”
